The funeral choir group brings comfort to families during their time of mourning through their gift of music. Funerals are typically scheduled late morning on weekdays. Cantors have a special ministry in assisting the sung prayer of the assembly, encouraging the assembly’s singing in a way that allows them to sing with confidence on their own.
Instrumentalists can play a unique role in augmenting our leadership of congregational singing and musical prayer. Some instruments are more suited for solo playing while others fit more into ensemble playing.
Due to the unique nature of these ministries, ongoing formation and training are encouraged and expected of all participants, and an audition is required.
